SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES

Teachers use a wide variety of materials to teach, but also have a lot of fun with these subjects.  The goal of these classes is to build a strong foundation while giving students the opportunity to work in groups and do lots of hands on learning.  Teachers follow the interests of the students and write their own lessons.  Science lessons will include all areas of science (biology, earth, physical, etc.)  Social Studies will encompass world and U.S. history, geography, map skills, etc.

FINE ARTS

Music theory as well as performance will be the focus of our music class.  Some drama may also be incorporated into a Christmas or Spring production for parents.

Art class includes the study of artists and their work and gives the students an opportunity to create their own works of art.

Sign Language

Sign Language is a new course for the 2014-2015 school year.  The course will focus on basic Sign Language words and phrases and conversational words.  No previous Sign Language is required.

BIBLE

HECJC uses the A Beka Bible program.

PE

Our PE program incorporates group games, sports and personal physical fitness.
